Wow, it's been a while since I've posted an update. So probably better to break it up into sections.
Kids---
Bee is in panties all day now! She's excited. We're excited so she gets her Dora bedding (how I wish my mom got Disney instead of Nick Jr.). In fact, her room is set up right now! I guess we were just too busy before to bother with it and as soon as we weren't in and out all day, it was easy to let her do it all by herself. She's had all the "signs" that she was ready for a while, I just didn't have the time and then there's the fact that she forgot to put her seat down and fell in the toilet. That was a little set back but we're done with that thankfully. I am glad we waited because she pretty much trained herself. We didn't have to go through a lot and it was easy. Now, I feel like I am truly raising children and officially out of "baby land."
Bug is becoming a fashionista. And bringing Bee along with her. That's fine. It's cute. They've been with my mom for a week now, 3 hours away. So it's been just me and Redmosqui for a while now. We've talked to my mom everyday, the kids have been busy at their Uncle J's pool. And playing with their cousins. I've been told several that they want to stay there with their Tetta and their cousins. I have a nice surprise for them--- They're Uncle J and Aunt L, and 2 cousins we'll be joining us on the trip to the beach this coming Monday for Red's birthday. They'll be happy, the Condo we rented sleeps 8 anyway so they're going to come along. The Bugs will be very happy. And I will be glad to spend some time with my niece before she goes into the hospital. I don't have all the details yet, and I am not sure I want to. All I know is eventually, they have to go into her brain. That's more than enough knowledge for me.
Us--
Time without the kids has been really nice. The house has been really peaceful and quiet. We've been doing things that you can do when kids aren't in the house like leave out sharp objects. Not do the dishes forever, and go out whenever and where ever. Papa Bug and Grandma Bug have been over helping to paint the house. It's all done now, and WOW... a coat of paint can do a lot. I still had to work a little bit. When we dropped the girls off with their Tetta, we got to visit with some of my dear friends too. That was nice. It's nice that we'll get to spend a few days with everyone before and after our beach trip too. The summer has started off nicely. Lots of plans. Not enough time to blog, but hopefully I can still do Wordless Wednesday with pictures of everything we do. I got myself a new camera and I love the pictures it takes. It's originally $400, and I got it on sale for about a quarter of the price. I can't wait to try it out on the kids. The most important thing to me is shudder speed and it's got a wonderful recycle time. Great for kids that don't ever stop.
As a surprise to Red, I also booked us a Mountain trip, to where we got married. Timberwolf Creek in the beautiful Maggie Valley, NC. A few miles off the highway, but 50 years back in time. It's so peaceful to sleep next to a rolling stream with the windows open. Instead of renting a room, I booked the entire cabin. I already told Red about it, but we're leaving it as a surprise for the girls. We'll drive up to Bryson City first. Bryson City holds the majority of the entertainment in the Mountains. But we had the option to book a 7 hour tour, that includes a long tour by train and then a 2 hour tour in a Jeep Wrangler. The girls are obsessed with Trains and Jeeps but we've opted just to do the 2 hours Jeep tour, then surprise them by going to the cabin for 2 nights. I bought them "Dora" backpacks. Literally, the same one Dora has. Some binoculars, and Red and I will be dressed as Safari Explorers since the Jeep will be taking us to tour the waterfalls and other sites. Red wants an Indiana Jones hat and I may even let the girls use cameras as well because Red and I now have our own. During the other 2 days there, we're going to go tour the Blue Ridge Parkway. I've driven most of it in my lifetime here in NC, so I'd like to share it with them. We're also going to watch the Elk. There is a whole reservation for them and you can just go park and watch them. Then we're going to a special amusement park just for kids Ages 1-6, called Santa's Land. They have a train there so I figure that's where they will get their train fix. We'll pack up all our Thomas movies and any other "train" type stuff that we've collected over the years and drive out letting them wonder where we are going. The only thing I worry about is that we've never boarded our Penny. The Innkeeper is the person who married us and she told me it was fine to bring Penny but I don't want to have to worry about what she's doing while we're having a blast. So, yup... we'll board her. We found the best kennel ever here that has accommodations for everything, and it's not very expensive either. So she gets her own little vacation. The very next day after we come back from our trip.... Bug goes to Kindergarten camp! I am very excited.
Aside from that, Red's birthday and my nieces birthday are only 2 days apart. We'll be celebrating together at the beach. And then celebrating when we get back to my moms with kabobs and other Lebanese fare. Friday, today, I guess, I have an appointment with my favorite hair dress, who weirdly enough has the same name I gave my niece. ;) Then Ant Cici will be here for another visit only this time for the first time in 5 years... a childless visit! We've seen so much of each other recently that I am going to dread when we have another year apart from each other. But we have many late night conversations that make the distance not seem to rough. Then we'll let the vacationing begin! I hope everyone is have a great summer! Mine is turning out to be pretty good thus far. I will post pictures of Bee's room, Bugs new cd player and that finished product of the painting of the walls next WW... or maybe the one after that since we'll be on the quiet sandy beaches of NC! :)

Happy Mother's Day!!!
Alas, I have to work 5pm-1:3am on Mother's Day. But at least I get the whole day today with my family and most of tomorrow. :) They let me sleep in today and I took full advantage of it and stayed in bed until 1:30 in the afternoon! Going to sleep at 3am taking a toll during the week. Then we went to Target to acquire flip flops for all 4 of us for our beach trip. Then we went to a wonderful hibachi dinner. We LOVE watching them cook the food and it's wonderful to watch the girls faces when they're doing tricks. After that we came home and Redmosqui gave me some time alone at the house. He took the bugs and went to the store. They came back with a dozen roses. I love flowers. I used to work for a greenhouse as a vendor and loved working with the flowers so they know exactly what to get me.
We put them in a vase on the kitchen table to share the beauty of them. Below is the craft project Bee did at school for Mother's Day. It's really cute and from what I was told the kids had a lot of fun doing it for their moms. Bee does not talk in school at all but when I picked her up she ran up to me with her project very proud of what she did and said "This is for you mama," in front of her teachers. We were amazed! I was like "Did she speak or am I just so tired that I am imagining it." But no, she did speak!
This one below is my favorite of them all. It's funny, it's cute and it makes me proud to be my Bug's mom! It shows me that bug listens to me. Like when I tell her I weigh too much right now and I am trying to watch what I eat. She's even taken to eating what I eat now. She's a sweet heart--- MY sweet heart. This is the questionnaire they did in her preschool class.
I laughed and cried at the same time when I read this. She thinks I am prettier than a "dress." Dresses are her favorite thing to wear. She knows I weigh "too many pounds. I am not sure why I'm 10ft tall but hey, that's flattering! Even in heels I don't hit 5'5. She knows I like hotdogs. She knows I used to wear a heart shaped gold ring when I was a child (she wants that ring badly). She knows I have to be really mad at them to put them in their rooms and she knows that I don't get to relax and play toys with them everyday. That part broke my heart.
Some days I wish I didn't have to work, some days I wish I didn't feel like I had to do the responsible thing for us. I know we all need health insurance. I know the extra income allows us to do more and have more. It allows us a higher budget that's for sure. And it allows each of us one on one time with the children and family time as well. Sure I'm tired, sure the girls have no idea how hard this is on my body, especially with so many things against me (old foot injury, diabetes) but for Mother's Day they helped me realize that they see m hard work. They may not understand it but they know it's there. They know they have a place to call home, surrounded by familiarity and love. They know they have 2 parents who would do anything for them and just knowing that---- make all that I do as their mother and his wife so worth every bit of exhaustion from having 20 hour days.
There is so much more to Motherhood, even parenthood than meets the eye. It brings on appreciation for my mother and parents. And it brings on the realization of all the things it took to get me to where I am now. Mother's and Father's day is really every day. It's in every smile that your children flash. It's in every hug and kiss that we are given. It's in every "I love you," "I don't want you to go to work," "I don't want to go to bed," etc. This is what I have learned from raising my children. I may not have realized it when they were infants... In the showing off what I brought into the world stage which turned out to be the easiest stage, I learned in the trying stages and wouldn't trade in this knowledge for all the treasures in the world. While I know from here on out we're going to have several more trials, I can go into with new knowledge of just how much my children do realize what our daily struggles have been. All thanks to a little questionnaire.
I hope everyone's Mother's Day is equally as gratifying. Physical gifts or not.... the gifts are there if we're willing to see through all of the hard things we endure on a daily basis to the prize at the end of the tunnel. We've got these little humans to train and it may not be the easiest thing in the world, but you know what? It's the most rewarding out of all the things we'll do here.

Movies..
Since Sunday is one of my days off, Redmosqui and I decided to watch Avatar. I wouldn't call it an amazing movie. It was good. The concept isn't new obviously, but the graphics were amazing. That's really the most interesting part that I enjoyed during the movie. When told that there maybe a sequel, I am kind of indifferent to whether or not there should be one. For me, the movie is over. I know enough. And any sequel would just be the same thing happening again. I even think I probably shouldn't have bought it. I should've rented it. The chances of me watching it again are slim to none unless one of my guests wants to spend almost an entire afternoon watching the movie with us.
We also took Bug and Bee to Xtreme play which is one of those places with the inflatable bounce houses. They bounced their hearts out. We've joined Bob Evan's birthday club so they sent Bug a free kids meal coupon for her birthday so we finally got out there. Then we went to Walmart to get doggie food for the "Coo Coo Puppy" (what the girls are calling the dog now). The girls seem to know all the movies we have and don't have. While at Walmart today, they pointed out that they don't have Toy Story 2 since it just came out recently. I almost wanted to pick it up for them but we joined a club almost 2 years ago. You know, one of those "Oh you'll get these movies at this discounted price if you'll buy 5 movies are regular price over 24 months." But we've discovered that the club more than makes up the value of the discounts they give you on the movies since each additional movie is at least $20 (depends on if you have Blu Ray too). Then there is shipping. Needless to say, I am ordering Toy Story 2 to fullfill my obligation of 5 movies in 24 months early. Then I'll use the VIP membership to my advantage for Christmas presents until my contract is over and will never sign up again. My biggest pet peeve is the customer service. It was horrible. They made a mistake, charged my credit card (they don't accept debit card) twice last year for one movie. So I called, and I was nice about it. I told them just send me another movie. (I blogged about it last year so I won't go into full detail.) So they said ok. Well, they charged my credit card again. So, I am charged for one more movie that I should not have been charged for. Thank goodness they don't accept debit. That could really play with bank accounts. Anyway, December I ordered G-Force 2. It was supposed to get here by Bee's birthday. Never came. So I called almost February and they said someone deleted my card that was on file. The whole time I was checking my order status, it said "Processing." Hello? My phone number is in the system, they confirm it everytime we call. Don't let it process for over 2 months without even calling or randomly canceling it. So I cancelled it. We ended up renting it anyway. Don't really care to own it. We ordered Princess and the Frog instead. You even have to argue with them to take one off of your commitment agreement, even when it's their mistake. Another pet peeve I have is that I want to be able to see the movie with the girls when it comes out. Princess and the Frog came out a month before it was set as the featured title or even for order on the movie club. Not only could I have bought it for the discounted price that first week it's out, but I wouldn't have to wait for it either. They say allow 10 days for shipping, it took a lot longer than that and there were no holidays in March to delay postage. A lesson learned I suppose. Anyway, that's what I am doing tonight. I am ordering my last over priced movie and getting it done. I suppose I will still have to respond to the featured title maillings until October but at least that's not too much longer. I dealt with it almost 2 years now. I will always support the company itself and always enjoy the movies. In fact most of the dvd's the bugs watch, I had before they were born. So I've been a collector as far back as I can remember. Even have the musical CD's at my moms house. Those songs and movies got me through tough times when I broke my foot so I won't let one bad experience ruin it for me. It's just sad that I am expecting something to happen with my Toy Story order since it would be par for the course. But anyway.... Movies. :)
We had a great movie week here at our House. Wednesday we watched Chicken Little and Enchanted. Thursday, we watched Lion King. Friday we watched Aristocats and Cinderella 2. We watched a few others too but it was fun. The girls have a separate DVD folder for their movies and they know how to get the DVD player going. At least Bug does. We put popcorn in brown paper lunch bags for them. Somehow, that's cleaner and makes them feel like we're at the movies. We did play dress up and had a little photoshoot afterward on Friday. (Saving them for Wordless Wednesday post) As hectic-busy-trying, etc that our life is... we still have time to enjoy simple things like watching the girls bounce themselves silly or cuddling with movies on. It's been a nice week on top of it all. Hopefully next week we'll be able to watch Bedknobs and Broomsticks and Lady and the Tramp. :)
While at Walmart, we also bought the Ninja blender. We have been making smoothies a lot lately and our blender was starting to go. The girls are also obssessed with having their smoothies. We picked up a ton of fresh and frozen fruit. I wish we got them at the Farmers Market but eh.... Fruit is fruit. We have been going more often since it's warmed up but we can cheat once and a while, right? ;)
Smoothie recipe:
Couple little pours of Acai berry Juice
Orange Juice
Blackberry Pomogranate yogurt (Light Yoplait one is tasty, or use Vanilla Soy milk for lactose free)
Then toss in some berries --- strawberries, blueberries, blackberries.
Add a banana.
Blend until drinkable and if you want to get fancy toss in some frozen fruit pieces instead of ice.
Just a little warning about the Acai Juice. First off... it's expensive. Almost $7 for juice. Yup, I said SEVEN. And be sure to taste it before drinking it. I am fine with it in Smoothies but I can smell it when it's in there. I don't even have to see it poured in to know it's in there. So, make sure you like it first. Unlike me. At least if you do use it, the benefits of having it in there far outweigh the taste sensitivity.

Weekly Update--- Summer Plans!
It's been a crazy busy week here in the Bug household. We've had a few contractors come over to talk about designs to have an additional room added on to the house. If we decide to do the room addition which is what I really want, it will be the girls shared bedroom. Then we gain 2 rooms to do whatever we please with. One would be a play room for the kids and their friends. The other... we have no idea yet. It will probably double as a guestroom/rec room for us. At least, that's the plan anyway.
We've been planning a beach trip too. We've found a lovely villa to rent \and have been awaiting the rental agreement to come in the mail. The Villa actually sleeps 10 people, which obviously, we won't have that many people but the price was right, and the days we could go were open. Redmosqui has been planning for summer.... ontop of my planning! It's kind of exciting. I am usually the planner of the family. My plans for summer involve the beach, trips to my hometown, to farms for fruit picking. Going to various farmers markets. There is a really big one inside Charlotte, NC. I have been on my own when I lived in that area. I've been waiting for the kids to be older since it is on a busy street and for us to have more time to go to it. Last Summer, I was still working 6 days a week. My one day off was on the day that it was closed. So we didn't have the opportunity to go. We also are planning on going to Lazy 5 ranch so that the girls can feed the zoo animals from the Tram. Redmosqui plans on movies, concerts, and a dinner cruise out on Lake Norman. I was hoping to have time to do a Mystery Dinner Theatre Train but I don't think we'll be able to do that this year. The other thing I wanted to do that is iffy--- I want to take the bugs to the mountains to ride on Thomas the Tank Engine. I've been looking into that for a couple of years now, since Bug has shown an interest in trains but we may have to wait until next year. So those are some of our Summer plans. We'll see. It seems like we have enough on the books for now.
Another reason we were so busy this week--- I registered the Bug for kindergarten! We went to the school. Walked around a little bit, and filled out all of the paperwork. She's signed up for kindergarten camp which is about 2 weeks before kindergarten actually starts. Essentially, it is a kindergarten training camp. The couple of the ladies in the Elementary School office recognized the girls. They attend church at the Preschool I have the Bugs enrolled in. She has a month and a half left of preschool. Soon she'll be taking her little cap and gown pictures and doing her little graduation ceremony. Her picture will also be in the newspaper. I have her first week of kindergarten off of work so I can be home to ease her into it. I can say she has turned into a well rounded young lady. Generally, I think she's like me but I also see a lot of her uncles in her as well. She doesn't have too many temper tantrums anymore but she can argue her point now with precision and valid reasoning. You can tell that she wants to use more complicated vocabulary that she has, so she struggles with that a little bit. She's so helpful. She gets up in the morning. Get's dressed. Makes her own bed, and attempts to let me sleep. She gets Bee up and dressed as well--- Except she uses her own clothes instead of Bees clothes. But it's the thought that counts. She knows that I come home well after she's been in bed. Although, I end up getting up with them anyway instead of trying to sleep longer.... I know that she tries. She does other chores in exchange for a small (very small) allowence, and for stickers on a chart. Once the chart is full we will go to Xtreme Play. Which is one of those centers filled with bouncey houses. I've always called her my little Sugar Plum Fairy and she really is. But she's starting to grow out of my calling her that. As long as bee still lets me call her my Sweet Pea or Baby Doll for a little while longer, I'll be content. I am not sad at this point that she's going to kindergarten, I am actually happy to have a healthy, thriving child. Perhaps closer to that date, I will feel differently. We'll see.
There were thoughts about taking Bee out of the preschool so I would have less running around to do, but I know she would be disappointed. She's doing so well and is upset on the days she doesn't have school. She's so attached to Bug that I am sure she will struggle with bug being gone from about 7:45am-2:40pm. That's a long day even for Bug to be away from her sister that long. But Bee is doing so well. As for paying for it, we're lucky that this year we were able to apply and obtain scholorships for both of them which cut the cost, literally, in half. We would actually still qualify for it next year for Bee as well so she'll get to stay there for another 2 years. It is income based but it would be ashame to take Bee out of school when we've met so many amazing people/parents there. I've become close with most of the mothers as well since me and Bee hang out there for an hour waiting for Bug.
I am very ready for summer though. I am ready for having Redmosqui home all the time. We've been talking on the phone several times a day since we only see each other 2 days a week. Luckily for me, the job is going great! I've get my bonus for March on tomorrows check and you know... I feel lucky to have a job with the bonus. The bonus itself more than triples one of my checks from my old job (that has now buld een outsourced and everyone in the division was laid off). My father in law and I were talking and I am lucky. He hasn't gotten a raise or a bonus in the last 5 years. I will be getting a 10% raise next month. It took a lot of effort of my mom and my friends to help get me into this job. Get me trained, licensed, etc. I am thankful that I am doing well and excelling. I don't want to waste all of their hard work and contribution to my family, my need for health insurance and our financial stability. Financial stability is hard to come by these days and we're lucky at this point. Very lucky. Seems like things really do fall into place when they need to.
I've been reading a lot of books lately, and have watched a couple new movies. We bought Avatar today but Game 5, of the first series of hockey games for the Pittsburgh Penguins was on tonight. We were going to watch it afterwards, but the game was on from 7pm-midnight. So maybe Sunday. When my husband saw it in the theatre, he told me it was like Dances with Wolves. I guess I will see. You'd think I wouldn't have time to read or watch movies, but somehow, it happens! This passed month, I've read / watched:

I do miss blogging and reading my favorite blogs. I didn't even have time for a Wednesday post this week, but it's okay. Summer. Is. Coming! I hope everyone has had a good week so far!
We've been planning a beach trip too. We've found a lovely villa to rent \and have been awaiting the rental agreement to come in the mail. The Villa actually sleeps 10 people, which obviously, we won't have that many people but the price was right, and the days we could go were open. Redmosqui has been planning for summer.... ontop of my planning! It's kind of exciting. I am usually the planner of the family. My plans for summer involve the beach, trips to my hometown, to farms for fruit picking. Going to various farmers markets. There is a really big one inside Charlotte, NC. I have been on my own when I lived in that area. I've been waiting for the kids to be older since it is on a busy street and for us to have more time to go to it. Last Summer, I was still working 6 days a week. My one day off was on the day that it was closed. So we didn't have the opportunity to go. We also are planning on going to Lazy 5 ranch so that the girls can feed the zoo animals from the Tram. Redmosqui plans on movies, concerts, and a dinner cruise out on Lake Norman. I was hoping to have time to do a Mystery Dinner Theatre Train but I don't think we'll be able to do that this year. The other thing I wanted to do that is iffy--- I want to take the bugs to the mountains to ride on Thomas the Tank Engine. I've been looking into that for a couple of years now, since Bug has shown an interest in trains but we may have to wait until next year. So those are some of our Summer plans. We'll see. It seems like we have enough on the books for now.
Another reason we were so busy this week--- I registered the Bug for kindergarten! We went to the school. Walked around a little bit, and filled out all of the paperwork. She's signed up for kindergarten camp which is about 2 weeks before kindergarten actually starts. Essentially, it is a kindergarten training camp. The couple of the ladies in the Elementary School office recognized the girls. They attend church at the Preschool I have the Bugs enrolled in. She has a month and a half left of preschool. Soon she'll be taking her little cap and gown pictures and doing her little graduation ceremony. Her picture will also be in the newspaper. I have her first week of kindergarten off of work so I can be home to ease her into it. I can say she has turned into a well rounded young lady. Generally, I think she's like me but I also see a lot of her uncles in her as well. She doesn't have too many temper tantrums anymore but she can argue her point now with precision and valid reasoning. You can tell that she wants to use more complicated vocabulary that she has, so she struggles with that a little bit. She's so helpful. She gets up in the morning. Get's dressed. Makes her own bed, and attempts to let me sleep. She gets Bee up and dressed as well--- Except she uses her own clothes instead of Bees clothes. But it's the thought that counts. She knows that I come home well after she's been in bed. Although, I end up getting up with them anyway instead of trying to sleep longer.... I know that she tries. She does other chores in exchange for a small (very small) allowence, and for stickers on a chart. Once the chart is full we will go to Xtreme Play. Which is one of those centers filled with bouncey houses. I've always called her my little Sugar Plum Fairy and she really is. But she's starting to grow out of my calling her that. As long as bee still lets me call her my Sweet Pea or Baby Doll for a little while longer, I'll be content. I am not sad at this point that she's going to kindergarten, I am actually happy to have a healthy, thriving child. Perhaps closer to that date, I will feel differently. We'll see.

She's doing so well and is upset on the days she doesn't have school. She's so attached to Bug that I am sure she will struggle with bug being gone from about 7:45am-2:40pm. Weekly update. (all I have time for right now)
A coworker asked me to make her cupcakes for her baby shower. Here is what I did for her. These weren't exactly the finished product. There were several touch ups that were made but it took forever to finish up. So, I don't have the picture of what it looked like in the end. One of my best friends came over, kept me company, and helped out by doing piping and melting the chocolate so we could stick the decorative pacifiers in there.
She said she loved them. I dropped them off at her house the same day. Her baby shower was today. Cake is hard work. Maybe one day when I am better, I can open up a bakery and have my friend partner with me. It's a dream, but I've noticed lately that if there was ever something that I've wanted, and wanted it bad enough, I get it. So, I have started thinking about that recently, not sure if I really want it. It would be wonderful if I could decorate cake and pastries all day instead of what I am doing now, but I also love my job and talking to people, helping them out when I can. I am always so protective over those that I am close to, if they need something they know they can just call or talk to me and I will do what I can for them. This job gives me a chance to expand that to others. The people I talk to notice that as well. It's great to hear that even if I don't get them in with the company, that I still helped them by talking to them. It feels good.
Health update:
In other news, today was another horrible day. I made it 11 days without having an "attack" of whatever is going on. My radiation scan test was on Thursday, I am hoping by Monday, the radiologist would have looked into it and given me the results so we can move on to more testing, or hopefully find out what is going on. This is seriously taking away from my life right now. I had to call out of work again today, and I hate doing that. I enjoy being at work, and being with my coworkers. I did get another new symptom recently, which has to do with my last post. I am bleeding more easily and a lot longer than usual. Even basic blood sugar checks have become tedious due to excessive bleeding. Argh! Need to figure it out soon because right now, we're struggling. I am lucky that I have great friends who check on me and help us out when we need it.
Kids:
12 days until my bug is 5 years old. I decided on a castle cake for her with some plastic turrets to display the Cinderella figures that I feel like I harassed the Disney store to get last year. Now she's wanting a Cinderella hair brush. I know I'll eventually find it but probably not in time for her birthday. I guess Tinkerbell (what her brush is now) is getting old for her. Bee is trying to grow up too quickly too. She hopped on Bugs tricycle and actually fit on it. So maybe if there is more beautiful North Carolina weather, we can get her on it and let her start practicing.
My niece and my mom came over as well when I had my test on Thursday. All three girls had fun and there were lots of tears when it came time for them to leave. A few highlights of the visits were them wearing their princess nighties. We also did Family Fun Night at McDonald's. Hamburger Happy Meals were 99 cents, and it was a Star Wars night there as well. All three had a blast. My mom wanted to hang out at the house to rest, but instead of resting---- She cleaned up my house. I made sure to tell my mom how much I love her, and how awesome she really is before she left. 2 days wasn't long enough. The house across the street from me is going for $99,000... which is way under what it is worth. I would love to buy it and keep it as a place for my mom to stay when she's here, but she won't be here often enough to warrant it, and she doesn't want to leave the house she's been in for 16 years either. *Sigh* Here are the girls in their princess nighties;
We also had a trip to the fire department last week. Bug made sure to tell the Fireman that if he ever has to come to our house, he has to save our Chi-Wow-Wow, Penny. He told her not to worry. He'd save her chi-wow-wow. He was an excellent speaker, especially to kids. He was fun, funny and made them and adults laugh. Here are some pictures:
I am glad we got to go on the field trip with the class. They also learned about police officers, dentists, ambulance drivers, postal service workers and several others. Definitely things that staying at home wouldn't teach them. It also gets them thinking about what they want to do when they're older. Bug has decided on Dentist but only for people with good teeth, she says. They also taught Bug about 911, how to call and when. They took tours of an Ambulance and Firetrucks. Hopefully this week my friend and I can get birthday pictures, and Easter pictures taken care of for the girls. They're getting so big, more work, but more fun as well. Hard to believe Bug will be in her Preschool cap and gown for graduation in May.
They're also learning about Easter! We decided to do an egg hunt in our backyard this year, and I am going to make a ham and a few others things for dinner. Sunday is pretty much my only weekend day off. So we decided since I don't have to work Easter, we'd just stay home and enjoy the day all together as a family, play, watch movies and just... stay in our jammies all day! Except the egg hunt of course. Hopefully we'll get to do it outdoors, weather permitting. I have a really awesome idea that I am going to implement for the egg hunt that I think the girls will love. I hope everyone is having a great week and weekend. Look forward to catching up on reading blogs and commenting tomorrow in between planting pansies, and hopefully using up most of the 50 bags of mulch we purchased.

A day off/Reflections of the future/Education
I didn't have to go to work today, so my mom and I made it a busy day with the Bugs. After they went to school, we picked up G,G. Bee ( their Great Grandma) and brought her over to our house. We all watched Pinocchio and talked for a few hours. Bug and Bee showed her their work books. Bug is working on writing which she does very well now. Bee is working on coloring only inside the lines, which for one who just turned 3, she's doing VERY well. They showed her how they do everything. Then it was time for the girls to have "Quiet Time," as they still like to use the term since Ant Cici called it that.
While the girls were up for quiet time. G.G. Bee, me and Tettabug all watched Leverage. G.G. Bee says she likes Timothy Hutton, he's in Leverage so I let her watch yesterdays episode. It's a good show. One of the betters ones that I hope will not go away. I'm so thankful for DVR. Then it was time to take G.G. Bee home. She invited me in to talk for a while. We kind of lost track of time. When I got back home the bugs got their bath. It's usually very entertaining since they have Ariel toys... They sing a tone deaf version of Under The Sea.. Which sounds more like "Under Da SEA," totally not on beat, or que. And it's just "Under DA SEA" over and over and over again. My daughters most likely will NOT be singers, and hopefully will not try to be on American Idol. They do better with Pants on the ground, than Under the Sea. (Yup, Special). After their Thursday bath, I blow dry or flat iron their hair. Today, I did the little flip-style in the back.
After that, I started teaching Bug and Bee some words from these books I bought from a college student that was going door to door last year. They are a funny dictonaries for kids. I make bug say the word, tell me what it means then spell it out. I spoke with Bugs teachers since we're 1 month away from Kindergarten registration. We're torn between 2 schools. The one she's supposed to go to, or the one next to Redmosqui's work. It's our choice which one she can go to. After speaking with her Preschool teachers, they told me the kindergarten process. I know one of them was a teacher before so insight helps. They told me about the evaluation the children go through to determine where they'd be. How to help bug prepare for it. They also told me that within months of starting kindergarten that all of the students would be reading. While I have worked with Bug on her Poingo, I think I am going to step up the work on my days off. That's how I got ahead in school. Read ahead, start early. I think some of the things they do now in kindergarten are not needed. Reading I can understand starting early, but I don't think they need Spanish. But it's a fair right of passage for children, in my own humble opinion.
The day I put both girls in Preschool, I thought I was crazy. I couldn't believe I did it, and then I left them there the next day. It just so happened the day I called, there was 1 spot left in the class Bug needed to be in, and one spot left in the class Bee needed to be in. Meant to happen? Probably. I never realized that the couple of hours a day that they are there are so helpful for them. Not only for listening to other "adults". (One of the words we worked on with Bug today) But to be in an educational environment. My talk with Bugs teachers, they said she was absolutely ready to go to kindergarten next year. Which is exciting for me. She's going to enjoy it. She has school 4 days a week right now, Bee has 2 days a week and every day they ask if they can go. Both of them. That's important to have seeing as though their experience with education has to start out great otherwise, they'll be against it, or even the idea. They can't be attached to mommy forever and in just a few hours a day, a couple of days a week... they can learn so much. They have music once a week, dance once a week, chapel once a week. They learn numbers and sign language. It really is the perfect kindergarten prep......Bug will be in her little Preschool Cap and gown in May..... Bee will have 2 more years before she gets that, but I'm sure she'll be excited to see her sister on stage graduating preschool. Yup-- Best decision ever even though it didn't seem like it at the time. :)

Ok, so I haven't blogged in a while. Daddy D is busy working outside all of the time. And when he's not outside, I'm at work. So it's been busy busy busy. Father's day was okay, at this point I'm not exactly sure what I got my husband. I know it was more than one thing. I know I got him a grill cover... oh yeah... pictures of the girls. They're getting big. As my body falls apart, it's getting harder to sleep and keep up with them. My birth control (IUD) is know to cause some sleeping problems and it's hit me head on! On top of that my blood sugar is 500+ all the time now. That doesn't do me any good especially since once I'm sleeping, it's hard to wake up. Learning that it does that has explained a lot of things about my life and the way I was growing up. But still... it's causing me headaches and other pains.
Back to Father's Day... I was okay with my father not being here this year until while checking someone out at work, this lady said "You young people always forget to call your dads on fathers day. Don't forget to call yours." I'm sure I made her feel six inches tall when I told her my dad recently passed away. She said she'd pray for him but she didn't say it with too much concern or even a second thought that she might have hurt my feelings. It's crazy how people just don't think before speaking anymore. My dad was sent to his grave by a doctor and it's something I've tried not to think about. I try to remember that he's better off but when she said that to me, it just... I don't know how to explain it other than it ripped a new hole in my heart. I always called him on Father's Day... and this year would've been no exception if he was here, or if I could call heaven or the afterlife or whatever.
Ok, I went a little to deep there for my own liking.... I miss reading blogs and being on the computer. But there is a lot going on and we're in and out all of the time. But since it's almost 2 and I'm awake, I'll post a good number of pictures. And I'll stop blogging here to go read my favorite blogs.

I don't know how to explain it other than it ripped a new hole in my heart. I always called him on Father's Day... and this year would've been no exception if he was here, or if I could call heaven or the afterlife or whatever.
Ok, I went a little to deep there for my own liking.... I miss reading blogs and being on the computer. But there is a lot going on and we're in and out all of the time. But since it's almost 2 and I'm awake, I'll post a good number of pictures. And I'll stop blogging here to go read my favorite blogs.
